Day 1: Arrival in Skardu & Test Ride
Arrive in Skardu, the start point for this one-way traverse of three mountain ranges. After checking in, take your motorcycle for a short test ride before the fourteen-day route gets underway in earnest tomorrow.
Day 2: Deosai National Park
Open the ride with Deosai's vast alpine plateau, 3,000 km² of near-treeless grassland above 4,000m, and a summer home for the Himalayan brown bear. Break at Sadpara Lake, then take in Kala Pani, Bara Pani and Sheosar Lake before descending into Astore.
Day 3: Ride to Fairy Meadows
Ride to Raikot Bridge, park the bikes, and take a 4x4 jeep up the exposed climb to Tattu Village. From there, hike (or ride a horse) to Fairy Meadows, which opens onto one of the finest views anywhere of Nanga Parbat's sheer Rupal Face.
Day 4: Hike to Nanga Parbat Base Camp
A full day on foot beneath the ninth-highest mountain on earth. The roughly six-hour trail to Nanga Parbat Base Camp passes Bayal Camp on its way to a viewpoint that puts you eye to eye with the 8,126m summit, one of the most rewarding treks in the entire itinerary.
Day 5: Ride to Hunza
Hike back to Tattu Village, take the jeep to Raikot and collect the bikes for the ride to Hunza, passing the Three Mountain Range Junction, the only point on earth where the Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindu Kush converge, with both Nanga Parbat and Rakaposhi visible from the road.
Day 6: Ride to Shimshal
Take on the Shimshal road, a cliffside track above the Hunza River regularly ranked among the world's most dangerous. Pass Passu Cones on the way in, then experience one of the Karakoram's most isolated villages before returning to Passu for the night.
Day 7: Ride to Chapursan
Head to Chapursan Valley via Sost, ending at Chapursan Village, the last town on this stretch of the Karakoram Highway corridor. Stop at the shrine of Baba Ghundi Ziarat, a site of pilgrimage for generations of valley families, before returning to Passu.
Day 8: Ride to Gilgit
Ride south to Gilgit, capital of Gilgit-Baltistan, via Gulmit Village and Karimabad Bazaar, a chance to pick up local handicrafts before the route turns toward the Hindu Kush over the coming days.
Day 9: Ride to Phander
Leave the Karakoram Highway and head west into Ghizer district, following the Gupis Valley to Phander, a quiet valley known for its lake and green fields, and a marked contrast to the barren high passes of the days before.
Day 10: Ride to Shandur Pass & Booni
Cross into the Hindu Kush proper over Shandur Pass, home to the world's highest polo ground, then continue to Booni through Laspur Valley and the open expanse of Qaqlasht Meadows.
Day 11: Ride to Kalash Valley
Descend toward Ayun Valley and into Bumburet, one of the three Kalash valleys and home to the Kalasha people, whose pre-Islamic religion and culture survive nowhere else on earth.
Day 12: Excursion in Kalash Valley
A full day exploring Kalasha culture up close, the Kalash Museum's collection of textiles and artefacts, the traditional Madawjaw Dur burial ground, and time spent with local families to learn about their traditions and daily life.
Day 13: Ride to Chitral
The final riding day, down to Chitral town, once the seat of the Mehtars of Chitral. Visit Gol National Park and the striking white domes of the Shahi Mosque before your last night on the road.
Day 14: Departure from Chitral
A relaxed final morning to pack before transferring to Chitral Airport for your departure flight, fourteen days and three mountain ranges behind you.

Very good service provider. They have a lot of bikes to choose from, 150cc, 250cc and 450cc, and back-up trucks to carry the bikes if a rider goes down. Owner Salman Mustaq was very helpful and recommended some amazing routes.

No, this is a one-way route. It starts in Skardu and finishes in Chitral, so plan your international flights accordingly (we can advise on the best domestic connections).
It's one of the more demanding, combining the Shimshal road, the Fairy Meadows hike, and back-to-back high passes over 14 days, but it's still rated within reach of a moderately fit, experienced rider.
The backup support vehicle carries all luggage the entire way, so you never need to worry about transporting bags between one-way endpoints.
Yes. The hike is optional, you're welcome to relax at Fairy Meadows instead while the rest of the group completes the trek.
