Traveler Stories

Askole is the last motorable village in the region, beyond it, the road becomes a multi-day trekking trail to K2 base camp. It's about as remote as northern Pakistan gets, and gives riders a genuine sense of the wilderness that begins where the road ends.

Yes, this is our most demanding motorcycle tour, rated 5/5 for physical difficulty. It includes long consecutive riding days, high passes, and remote accommodation at Askole. We recommend it for riders with prior multi-day touring experience.

Askole has only basic guesthouse-style accommodation, twin sharing, simple rooms, no luxury amenities. It's a trade-off for reaching one of the most remote inhabited places in the country.

This 22-day itinerary is sold as a single package. If you want a shorter version, our 13-day "Hindu Kush Traditions" tour covers Days 1–11 of this route, and our 13-day "Last Villages of the Himalaya & Karakoram" tour covers similar Karakoram Highway sections.

Local trekking/tourism permits for the Baltistan region are arranged by our team as part of the tour, no separate action is required from you beyond your regular Pakistan visa and Letter of Invitation.
