Day 1: Arrival & Travel to Besham
Land in Islamabad and board the coach for the first stage north along the Karakoram Highway, following the Indus into the foothills. Arrive in Besham in time for dinner ahead of the following day's longer drive.
Day 2: Travel to Gilgit
A full day on the road through some of the most dramatic scenery of the trip. Stop at the Nanga Parbat viewpoint and the Three Mountain Range Junction, where the Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindu Kush converge, before reaching Gilgit for the night.
Day 3: Travel to Hunza
A short transfer into Hunza Valley with a free afternoon. Take in the Rakaposhi viewpoint, walk the ramparts of Altit Fort, and browse Karimabad Bazaar before settling in for dinner.
Day 4: Travel to Passu via Hopar
Continue north via Hopar, where the glacier reaches close to the road, through the Pak-China Friendship Tunnel and along Attabad Lake's turquoise water, crossing Hussaini Suspension Bridge before arriving in Passu.
Day 5: Khunjerab Pass (Pakistan–China Border)
Drive to the top of the Karakoram Highway and the Pakistan–China border. Past Passu Cones and through Sost, the road climbs into Khunjerab National Park to the pass itself, 4,693m above sea level, the highest paved international border crossing on earth, home to the world's highest ATM.
Day 6: Travel to Minapin
A shorter, more relaxed transfer to Minapin in Nagar Valley, a quiet village most coach tours never reach, with clear views of Rakaposhi Peak and Attabad Lake along the way, and a slower pace than the previous five days on the road.
Day 7: Travel to Skardu
Head east into Baltistan along the Karakoram Highway, passing through the Three Mountain Range Junction once more before Astak Nala and an evening at Shangrila Lake.
Day 8: Explore Skardu
A full day given over to Skardu's landscapes, the golden dunes of Sarfaranga Cold Desert, the still water of Blind Lake, and the cascading Manthokha Waterfall.
Day 9: Travel to Chilas
Start the journey south, stopping at Jaglot and the Zero Point Chilas viewpoint, a wide-open vantage over the Indus with the Nanga Parbat massif on the horizon.
Day 10: Travel to Islamabad
The long final transfer back to the capital, descending from mountain terrain into the plains around Islamabad in time for a farewell dinner with the group.
Day 11: Departure
A relaxed final morning, visit the striking white domes of Faisal Mosque and Centaurus Mall before transferring to Islamabad Airport for your departure flight.
