Important Notice

What are the benefits of early registration?

1. Building a Team: Crafting a great team takes time. We carefully evaluate all applications and select the most experienced mountaineers to form the optimal team. While our vetting process is not excessively rigid, the safety of our fellow climbers is always our primary concern. We do not accept every application just to increase the number of climbers on our team.

2. Logistics: Logistics play a critical role in our climbing expeditions. We make advance reservations and assignments for high-altitude porters, guides, and other staff, and procure necessary equipment and food. These arrangements cannot be made at the last minute. For winter expeditions in the Pakistani mountains, most of the supplies are transported to base camps two to three months prior to the expedition due to the extreme winter conditions, making it difficult for porters to carry heavy supplies through the trail.

3. Permit: In accordance with Pakistani government tourism laws, tour operators must submit climbing applications (including all necessary documents such as passport copies, photos, CVs, etc.) at least 70 days prior to their scheduled arrival in Pakistan.

4. Domestic Flights: It is crucial to pay your deposit on time as we may not be able to secure your seat on the domestic flight to Skardu. Due to the limited number of flights (only two during peak season), seats are quickly sold out in advance. This is a significant issue that must be addressed to ensure a smooth and successful trip.

5. Price Changes: The prices offered are subject to change and currently reflect early bird discount rates. It is important to note that prices may increase after January, as service providers such as hotels often raise their rates during peak season (May to September). Early reservations are generally less expensive than those made during peak season. Once you have paid the deposit, our prices will remain fixed, meaning the price at the time of booking is the price you will ultimately pay. To avoid any potential price increases, we highly recommend registering early for your holiday.

6. Pay less deposit: Below is the deposit schedule for departures in 2023.

  • 8 months before departure (deposit: 35%)
  • 6 months before departure (deposit: 40%)
  • 5 months before departure (deposit: 50%)
  • 4 months before departure (full payment)

Note: The same deposit time frames above apply to 2023-24 departures.

Refund policy

Deposit: Please note that the deposit is non-refundable, as it will be utilized for in-country arrangements, logistics, equipment procurement (such as oxygen sets), supply acquisition (including food), and the hiring of staff/sherpas.

The balance payment for the expedition is due 120 days prior to arrival in Pakistan, unless otherwise specified. Participants who fail to make their balance payment by the stated deadline risk forfeiting their funds and their place on the expedition. Please note that no refunds will be issued for either the deposit or balance payments, regardless of whether the expedition concludes without reaching the summit or making progress towards it, due to factors such as route conditions, weather, insufficient manpower, or any other circumstances beyond the control of Spantik Pakistan. The expedition leader has the final say on the conclusion of the expedition and will make every effort to ensure a safe and satisfying return for all participants.

Currency

All international climbers are charged in US Dollars (USD).

Other Notes
  • Before making any deposit payments, please ensure that you have filled out the registration form and received confirmation/approval from Spantik Pakistan.
  • Our refund policy is strictly adhered to due to the significant costs associated with government and operator permits.
  • Participants who opt to leave an active expedition for any reason will not be eligible for any refunds.
  • To safeguard your investment, Spantik Pakistan highly recommends obtaining trip cancellation insurance for all expeditions.
