Hushe Valley – Short way of k2
Located in the Khaplu region of Baltistan, Hushe Valley stands as the last inhabited valley before Karakoram Range. It is often called the Gateway to the Karakoram Giants, as it leads adventurers to some of the world’s most spectacular peaks, including Masherbrum (7,821 m), Laila Peak, K6, K7, and Gondogoro La Pass.
The valley stretches along the Hushe River, surrounded by mountains, alpine meadows, and ancient stone houses. The people of Hushe, known for their warmth, live in harmony with nature, following centuries-old Balti traditions.
From Khaplu, a scenic drive along winding roads and glacial streams brings you to Hushe Village, the last settlement accessible by road. Beyond it begin trekking routes that attract mountaineers and trekkers from around the world. The Gondogoro La trek offers a stunning view of four 8,000-meter peaks — K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrum I & II — making Hushe one of Pakistan’s most remarkable trekking destinations.
During summer, the valley turns into a beautiful place with green meadows, colorful flowers, and clear blue skies. In winter, it becomes a quiet, snowy land. The tall mountains, local culture, and untouched nature make Hushe Valley a must-visit for anyone exploring northern Pakistan.
